2007 Advent & Christmas Photos

We hope you will enjoy these images from the Advent and Christmas seasons. Through many activities and events, the people of Grace and its Christian School Ministries shared the Good News of the coming Christ Child with the community and with each other.

Grace Christian School Ministries sponsored a float in the Dec. 2 Prosperity Christmas Parade, encouraging people to celebrate the Birth of Jesus, the one true gift of Christmas.

Following the Parade, members of Grace gathered in the fellowship hall for Advent Family Night. At left, a member works on his family's ornament for the new Advent Family Tree that decorated the church Narthex during the Advent and Christmas seasons. At right, a smiling crew assembles Seafarers Boxes for sailors entering the Port of Charleston. Grace prepared 25 boxes of personal items for this project.   Below, left, the young and young-at-heart enjoyed coloring Advent pictures. Below, right, another Family Night project was recycling Christmas cards into new cards with special messages for the Prison Ministry at Newberry Jail and for wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Army Hospital. Over 75 cards were created for these two projects.

After decorating the church's Chrismon trees, Senior Youth shopped at Wal-mart for a homeless man and for five prison ministry children.

Precious angels, shepherds & animals gathered in the fellowship hall Dec. 9 before the annual Children's and Youth Christmas Pageant, sponsored by the Sunday School.

	The Senior Youth began the Pageant with their annual thought-provoking skit as Mary and Joseph looked for Jesus amidst the 2007 Christmas hustle-and-bustle. Below, angels appear to the shepherds before the shepherds go to Bethlehem to see Baby Jesus in the manger with Mary and Joseph (below left).

Students in the Preschool and Afterschool Ministries shared the Good News at the annual Preschool Christmas Program attended by more than 400 persons. (Photos at right and below left.) Below right, Afterschool students re-tell the Christmas story for each other and for their peers.

Preschool students visited local nursing homes to share Christmas carols and messages - and a few hugs - with residents.

	Grace members presented the Live Outdoor Nativity on the evenings of Dec. 14-16.  At left, the angel Gabriel appears to Mary to tell her of the coming Baby. Below left, Mary and Joseph gaze lovingly at the newborn King. Below right, shepherds abiding in the fields, keeping watch over their flocks by night.

Heavenly hosts of angels appear in the night to the shepherds	who go to Bethelehem to see the newborn Messiah!
