GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Many opportunities exist for giving financially to the ministries of Grace Lutheran Church, including the following list of funds and groups. Envelopes for specific funds and groups are located in the pew racks and in the narthex. For memorials or honorariums, please designate on the envelope, enclosure, and/or on the check in whose memory or honor the donation is being made and to which fund it should be directed. Please contact Pastor Eric Fink for information on special needs or specific items on the church’s “wish list.”  The church's mailing address is: P.O. Box 188, Prosperity, SC  29127.

CURRENT & BENEVOLENCE FUND: Also known as the unified budget or “regular” offering, this includes not only staff salaries, electricity, and insurance, but also social ministry, evangelism, benevolence, Christian Education and other ministries, all directed toward making a difference in people’s lives.

BUILDING FUND: This fund finances our recently completed Ministry Center at Grace. Our newly expanded facilities provide more room for our growing ministries and have already provided accomodations for new ministries like the Community Thanksgiving meal initiated in November 2009.

PROPERTY & MAINTENANCE FUND: This fund provides for routine maintenance and for repairs to the facilities.

COMMUNITY SERVICE FUND: Through this fund, Grace congregation is able to provide help to families and individuals in our community and congregation in times of crises or tragedy.

WICKER CAMPERSHIP FUND: The goal of the Campership Fund is to make sure that no young person at Grace misses the life-changing experience of Christian camp or daycamp due to the cost. The Wicker Campership Fund offers camp scholarships to all Grace children and youth attending Lutheridge/Lutherock in North Carolina or Lutheridge Daycamp in Newberry County.

SCHOLARSHIP FUND:  Since its inception in 1997, the Scholarship Fund has provided scholarships for college and technical school tuition for Grace members. These scholarships, currently $500 per academic year, are for any Grace member enrolled in a post-high school degree program. Scholarship applications invite the students to reflect upon God’s calling and work in their lives.

GRACE CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS FUND: This account provides financial support for the Grace Christian Preschool, Afterschool Ministry, and weekly Tutoring Ministry. For more on these ministries, visit the Christian Schools Page. You may designate on the check or envelope whether you wish the Preschool, the Afterschool program, or the weekly Tutoring Ministry to benefit from your gift. Gifts may also be designated toward Scholarships for children who might not otherwise be able to participate in Preschool or Afterschool.

WORLD HUNGER:  The ELCA World Hunger Appeal provides food, clothing, agricultural and vocational training for those in need in our own country and throughout the world.

ELCA DISASTER RESPONSE:  The ELCA Disaster Response offers direct assistance (housing, medical care, finances, counseling support, etc.) to those affected by disasters in our own country and throughout the world. Gifts can be designated to domestic or international needs.

SUNDAY SCHOOL:  Donations will go toward purchasing supplies to further the mission of the Sunday School program to nurture faith in children and youth and to encourage lifelong learning among adults.

LUTHERAN CHURCH YOUTH: Gifts support projects and programs of the Lutheran Church Youth, including sustaining the salary of the part-time youth coordinator.

LUTHERAN MEN IN MISSION: Contributions will be used toward programs of the Lutheran Men, which include the financial nurturing of mission congregations.

WOMEN of the ELCA:
Offerings will supplement programs and goals of the WELCA unit at Grace.
